- a few little search bugfixes
- drop in the improved version of the native search based on UTF-8 (still needs some work before it can replace the current native search)

Added: UTF-8 tools. Both functions are used by the "improved" search engine. We'll need utf8_strlen() if we go with UTF-8 in 3.2
