ffa5f71b4b Merged from MOODLE_14_STABLE: 
Add a unique key to guarantee that course,sortorder is unique. Allows fix_course_sortorder and ordering operations to be much faster. (martinlanghoff)

Plus more indexes for user table (mjollnir_)

42b90599be SESSIONS-IN-DATABASE SUPPORT 
Support for a new configuration variable called $CFG->dbsessions
which enables sessions via database.  Based on code from Jason Cole's

01e2ea5fa3 New field "guid" added to table user. 
This can be userd to store "global unique identifier" from external databases
like Windows SID or eDirectorys guid . This will keep upcoming user syncronization
feature reliable in case of renamed users.
Mysql files are untested.
php -l mysql.php does not show any syntax errors, so files
should work.

f950af3c43 All modules are now suitable for the site page. They now all follow the same rules, namely that any students enrolled in at least one course is considered to be a student on the site. 
All the page headers work correctly also on the site course.

On the site page the modules don't require login unless necessary or required by $CFG->forcelogin.

4e11ad4faa Added a new "auth" field to the user table. This field contains the 
authentication mechanism used to create that user record.

Also added code to upgrade existing systems to have entries in that
field, and for new users to also have that field defined.

This will allow us to later improve the login procedure to be able to
handle various types of authentication.

838ee71b4b New course field called idnumber ... acts as storage for an external 
id number for each course.  Used in external processing of course and
user_students and user_teachers tables.

10ee08cc65 Fix for bug #1280: the "showrecent" course setting has to go. 
The pgsql .php update script needs to be updated, but I 'm not sure about
the pgsql alter table syntax... mysql works, oracle is still under dev, so
no problem there.

0f3fe4b6ad First Official realease of the "Blocks System". 
Integrated with Moodle:
    - Install automatically.
    - Update course->blockinfo for each course at installation time.
    - Modified course creation to insert into blockinfo field.
    - Modified restore to insert into blockinfo field.
    - Admin options (hide, show, delete, config) from admin page.
    - Lang strings inserted (en only).
    - Database support to mysql and postgresql (not tested!!).
Moodle, backup and block versions updated to 2004041800.
Tested with mysql: Install fresh and upgrade from previous.
section_activities block renamed to social_activities and created
its own lang file to support name "Social Activities". This can
be changed at any time.

TODO:

Support it really in backup/restore.

I have a site which really needs this, so I went ahead with it already.

This add-on will cache formatted texts in the database and use them
for a specified timeperiod.

By default it is disabled.   Enable it with:

  $CFG->cachetext = 600;   // in seconds
