This way, extension authors can overwrite the empty value returned when a user does not have an avatar with a default value to display instead of nothing in the avatar space. PHPBB3-9550

INSTALLING DEPENDENCIES
To be able to run an installation from the repo (and not from a pre-built package) you need to run the following commands to install phpBB's dependencies.
cd phpBB
php ../composer.phar install
